NBA Draft Profile: Klay Thompson

Klay Thompson

6-7, 206 lbs.

College: Washington State

Class: Junior

AP/Tanner

STRENGTHS: The son of former No. 1 draft pick Mychal Thompson, Klay is an excellent shooter who has NBA size and can handle the ball well. He will stretch defenses with his range, and can score off the dribble at a high level. He’s also a good passer, as he led the Cougars with 3.9 assists per game last season.

WEAKNESSES: Thompson was a huge recruiting coup for Washington State when he committed to Pullman three years ago, but the five-star recruit never led Wazzou to the NCAA Tournament. Granted, he didn’t have much help around him, but his career must be viewed as somewhat of a disappointment by Cougars fans. He did average 22.1 points per game last season, but never displayed that killer instinct that would allow him to flourish at the next level.
